SCRUBS for THEM
Bring in your gently used scrubs and donate them.
"Not Just Tourists" (NJT) which gets medicines and supplies into areas that need more support than is available through formal aid programs. Travellers bring their medical kit (up to 10 kg) to local clinics and hospitals that we know from experience do not have adequate supplies for the local population.
All used scrubs will be donated to
Scrubs for Them & our customers have donated ... over 115 items
The nursing instructor (going back to Guatemala in March) literally grabbed your scrubs from my hands, saying "MINE"! (funny lady!) She was ecstatic! She and her students will find a way to make each one fits someone down there. Many thanks from her (and she knows your store!) and her crew.
So, the answer is a resounding YES, we're definitely interested in any more donations like that. Medical supplies are wonderful, of course, but those scrubs really light up the faces! Something for the actual caregivers, for a change.
Just a little note to wish you and yours a very merry one and to thank you again for your thoughtfulness.
FYI: the first set of scrubs went to a Guatemala project and to outfit student nurses in need in the area. The nursing instructor told us some of her students are struggling financially and your donated scrubs mean the world to them.
The second batch will be going to the Afar region of Ethiopia in January (www.cangoafar.ca), including to a small maternity hospital that NJT-Ottawa has been supplying.
Thanks so much for being part of a wonderful difference!
